What does self-care mean to you? When you hear the phrase, is it affirming? Alerting? Triggering?

In this episode, Rhonda interviews Taylor Elyse Morrison about self-care and Taylor’s mission to help people rid themselves of burnout. After years of taking on too many things at one time, from planning a wedding to working full-time and having a side business, Taylor knew there had to be a better way to live a more sustainable life.

Taylor Elyse Morrison is an international speaker, podcaster, and the founder of Inner Workout. She's on a mission to help people beat burnout through sustainable self-care practices. Taylor is also a trained facilitator, a certified 200-hour yoga instructor, and a certified group fitness instructor.

One Sunday evening, with deadlines approaching, Taylor realized her efforts to be productive were not working. This realization was the beginning of her self-care journey. She began spending a few hours each Sunday disconnecting to mentally prepare for the week ahead.

This practice led Taylor to explore new ways to incorporate more self-care activities into her life. In time, her self-care included more than just bubble baths. She defines a holistic approach to self-care as listening within, understanding what you’re experiencing emotionally, energetically and responding in the most loving way possible.

Taylor started Inner Workout as a way to help others in their self-care journeys. Her practices are rooted in the yogic philosophies of the five dimensions of wellbeing. Inner Workout’s evaluation includes a 75 question take-care assessment that measures your wellbeing across the five dimensions.

To determine what’s working, it’s important to check-in with yourself regularly and adjust as you go without beating yourself up. Taylor has taken her self-care practices to the next level and she’s helping others do the same.
